SURRENDER - A JOURNEY UNDER THE SKIN

Multisensory Exhibition

SURRENDER is a multisensory exhibition born from an original idea by Filipe Canto e Castro. Above all, it is a contemplation of the senses through a feminine lens.

An artistic journey composed in 7 acts, shaped by the author’s captivated vision of Women. Seven rooms, seven thresholds. A sensory portal where narratives, immersions, short films, tastings, performances, video, and photography converge.

An authorial exhibition rooted in a collective vision - both taken and reclaimed from the author's childhood, where Filipe recognises in the female figure the cornerstone of all structures.

In SURRENDER, the seven rooms: Discovery, Dark Room, Perspective, Intimacy, Seawall, Manifestation, and Singu(Lar), trace a path through the senses, each one proposing a different state of attention and emotional resonance. Threaded between them are ephemeral sensorial encounters, moments that touch the body, unsettle perception, and open space for unexpected honesty.

These interventions invite visitors to experience the feminine as presence, as tension, as silence and ultimately, as a question.

A wide constellation of collaborators carries the project. At its core stands a team composed of the author, an architect, producers, designers, and image makers, joined by a group of distinguished cinematographers, an art director, a perfumer, and a chef whose practice explores the language of flavour. Surrounding them is an extraordinary ensemble of performers and a collective of artists creating exclusive pieces that extend the exhibition into objects, gestures, and memory. Together, they give form to an experience that is both intimate and expansive.
